My New Magic Phone

That is what I call the iPhone. I'm soooo EXCITED. Judy and Joel decided to get me the iPhone as my late Xmas/early birthday gift. I love love love it. It's the coolest phone, especially since my last phone was so crappy that I couldn't even send or receive pictures. I'm still learning how to use it. There is so much to figure out but it seems to be relatively easy. I'm really slow on the text messaging, I have to get used to the full keyboard. So here it is my beautiful new phone :o)and to Judy and Joel a HUGE Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!

Brody 18 Months

Brody is officially 18 months old. He is growing up so fast. We had his Doctor's appointment today. He had 3 shots which I always hate watching. I hate seeing him in pain. The doctor said he looked like a perfect healthy little boy. Here are his stats.

Length 31.5" which is in the 25th percentile
Weight 24 pounds which is also in the 25th percentile
Head 49.5 cm which is in the 90th percentile.

He is officially off the bottle and drinking from sippy cups or from a straw. We have let him start trying to drink from a regular cup by himself but it's going to take some practice. He is still eating really well. He climbs on everything and has absolutely no fear, he is such a boy.

Stupid iPhone

So I said I would tell you about the iPhone debacle. I'm so irritated by the whole thing. When Judy and Joel were here I got to play around with Judy's iPhone and totally fell in love with it. They are such cool phones. Well, before they left, Judy surprised me and told me they were going to get one for me! I was soooo excited. We went to the AT&T store to pick one up. They looked up my account and said I didn't have an upgrade. What does that mean? Well apparently it means I either have to pay twice as much for the phone or wait until April 2010 to get one. I think this sucks! I'm so disappointed. I've never even used an upgrade and we have been with AT&T for like 10 years. I guess what happened was when Brody broke my razor I got the cheapest crappiest phone they had and apparently this counted as my upgrade. I don't understand why they can't just add on two more years to our contract. Grrrr to say the least I'm extremely disappointed and very frustrated with the entire situation.

Family Visit

Last weekend Mark's parents came to see us. We had a FABULOUS visit. We mostly just stayed at home and played with Brody. They got in on Thursday and we picked up BBQ on our way home from the airport. Mark was able to leave work early and hang out with us all day. We got sushi for dinner. Mark and Joel went and picked it up and we just hung out at the house. On Friday Mark had to work. Judy and I got up and went to yoga and Joel hung out with Brody. After yoga we picked up Brody and took him to get his second haircut. It was terrible. He screamed and cried the entire time. The girl was really patient and did a great job but B was not happy about it at all! After that the four of us went the Chuy's for lunch. I love that place it was so good. Oh and they had the best sopapilla's for dessert that were sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with honey. After lunch we dropped Brody and Joel off for a nap and Judy took me to get a massage. It was such a nice treat. That night Judy and I cooked dinner and then we played Smart Ass, which is my new favorite board game. We drank way to much wine and stayed up way to late but it was so much fun!!! The next day we got up and decided to go to the Domain to go shopping and have lunch. Mark got some really cool new jeans and Brody ran around like a mad man. He loves that place because he can just take off and run around. We had lunch at Jasper's which is always soooo good. Then we headed home for a nap. That night we made prime rib and crab legs and just hung out at home again. Mark got out his new telescope and him and Joel had a good time looking at all the starts and different constellations. It's funny how things change, I used to be all about going out and now my ideal night is a nice dinner and hanging out at home. Sunday we had lunch at CPK after the iPhone incident that I will blog about later and then we headed to the airport and had to say our goodbyes. I really enjoyed our visit. I needed some family time after spending Xmas on our own. The only bad thing about the visit was that I took absolutely no pictures. Not a single one, I can't believe it, I'm so disappointed in myself. I'll have to do better next time. Thanks for the great visit Judy and Joel we love you guys and miss you already.

Who are you and what have you done with Brody?

I can't believe how much Brody has changed in the last week. It's like he is a completely different little boy. The first big change has been his appetite. All of a sudden he is hungry ALL of the time and will eat pretty much anything. He is really into fruit right now and any kind of crackers. Also he has become such a love bug. He is constantly wanting to cuddle with me or give a hug or a kiss. I never want it to stop! Along with the good stuff has also come the beginning of temper tantrums. If he is told no or doesn't get his way he walks like five steps and then throws himself down on the floor and starts crying. It's all very dramatic and usually doesn't last very long but is still not very fun for mom and dad. I have a feeling it's only going to get worse. Oh and here are a couple of pictures I've been meaning to post. It's from November I forgot to post them, but they cracked me up so better late then never.

Brody has figured out how to open the pantry door and it's his new favorite place to play. And Shasta discovered that this is where we keep the kitty treats!

Ok so I finally uploaded the videos from Xmas. The first is all the video we took on Christmas eve. The second is Christmas morning, it's kind of long and boring but we figured the grandparents would enjoy it.

Visitors

Angela and Django came to visit us for New Year's. We had such a great time with them. It's hard being away from them but we always seem to pick up right where we left off. They flew in on Tuesday afternoon. We got Chuy's to go and just hung out at home and drank wine and played a few games. The next day was New Year's Eve, we went to whole foods for lunch and to pick up the lamb shanks for dinner. On Friday we took them to Salt Lick for yummy BBQ and my favorite, blackberry cobbler. That night we went to the Domain for dinner, it was such a nice night we sat outside and had a delicious dinner at Jasper's. Then Saturday it was time for them to head back to Cali. Thanks for the great visit, we love you guys!
