New Year's Eve

We had a FABULOUS New Year's! We aren't big on going out so we usually just stay in. This year we decided to invite a few friends over for dinner and to ring in the New Year. We cooked really yummy lamb shanks with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. Ang and Dj were in from Cali. Tim and Shara, Lisa, Chad, Matt, Savannah, Madison, Melissa, Nate, Dusty and Christa. Like I said it was a great night. Oh and we got the BEST news. Christa and Dusty are pregnant!!!!! We are so happy for them. Shara did the string test and we are predicting BOY! I guess we will all just have to wait and see!!!!

Merry Christmas!

I know I have been a terrible blogger lately. Sorry to everyone. We have been so busy, this is the first day I've even been able to have time to sit down and get on blogger. We had a quite but wonderful Christmas. We always spend Xmas with either Mark's or my family. This year we really wanted to start the tradition of having Christmas at our house and unfortunately neither of our families were able to join us. It was very hard being away from them but in the end we did have a very nice time with just the three of us. Actually on Xmas eve Tim and Shara came over. We made prime rib for the first time. We were a little nervous about how it would come out but it was amazing. I can't wait to make it again. We exchanged presents and watched Brody open all of his. It was a lot of fun. Then the next morning we had Brody's Santa gifts set out along with his stocking. He went straight over the them and dug right in. He was really good about playing with each thing for a few minutes and then rotating. Then the three of us just hung out in our PJ's all day watching movies and relaxing. It was really nice. Hopefully next year we can be with more of the family! Here are some pics and I'm working on downloading the video as we speak so as soon as it is done I will post it.

This was our Xmas card this year.

This was the first present he opened, a train from Grandma Judy and Grandpa Joel.

I'm really bummed this pic didn't come out better. Shara and Tim gave Brody this Longhorn Jersey, it was so cute on him!

A new picture for his room, from grandma and grandpa.

Tim and Shara also gave him the movie Cars, he couldn't wait to watch it.

Mark opening his gift from Tim and Shara, it was a telescope, we are really excited about it. I'm not sure what the expression on Mark's face is?

We got Tim and Shara these funny Longhorns hats to wear for the Fiesta Bowl.

Christmas morning, Brody playing with his new toys.

Playing with his etch a sketch, from grandma and grandpa.

His shinny new ball.

After we opened presents, we went outside to break them in.

Close up.

Throwing his new ball.

Batter up!

The next day a present from Mark's aunt Cynthia and Uncle Rob.

Some of his favorite gifts were books. He is in love with this one!

Last Brunch

So we got some very sad news. Tiphini and her family are leaving Austin. Her husband got a job in Santa Fe so they are relocating. They hope to move back in a couple of years but they will really be missed. Brody and Kayson are such buddies, we will definitely be visiting them in New Mexico. She had her last mommy brunch today. It was a lot of fun. It's crazy how much all the kids have grown, I'm always amazed. Here are some pics from today.

All the moms.

Last Weekend

We had Matt, Abbey and Kinsey over last weekend. It was so nice to get together with them. We made a really nice dinner. Matt made these fried potato fritter things that were soooo yummy. We played some games and caught up on life. They stayed the night and I made biscuits and gravy for breakfast and then they were on there way. They brought Brody a fabulous Xmas gift. It was a little pop up fort thing that Brody is obsessed with it's so funny. I keep finding both him and Shasta in there. I only took a few pics but Matt and Abbey took a bunch, here is the link to their pics http://www.aberdeenstudios.com/mjbxmas/. Thanks Matt, Abbey and Kinsey we love you guys!

Brody wasted no time opening it.

The fort.

He loves that he can stand up in it.

Too much fun!

Snowing in Austin

Yes that's right it snowed last night. That's not even the crazy part, it was in the 80's yesterday afternoon and by 8:30pm it was snowing. I've never seen the temperature drop so fast. The wind picked up and you could feel the storm blowing in. Here are some pictures of our snowy night.

More Brody

So I did the post on Brody yesterday and then happened to get this video last night. Brody's newest thing is standing on the coffee table and babbling forever. I have no idea what he is saying but it cracks me up. The video isn't that great the light was bad and it wouldn't focus but you can definitely hear him.

Brody Update

So it has been a little while since I have done a Brody post. He is changing everyday. I can't believe how big he is. He is still using his sign language, but he has a few new words he is saying. He is really big on animal sounds right now. He can bark like a dog, moo like a cow and baaa like a sheep. It's really cute. He has also added yes and boom to his vocabulary. It's really funny. Yes sounds more like desh but boom is clear as day. He hates hats, well he isn't fond of clothes in general, but hats are the worst. If I put one on he starts screaming and shaking his head like he is having a seizure, it's ridiculous. His favorite movie is Monsters Inc., he loves the little girl and always laughs when she calls the monster kitty. He will watch other Pixar movies too but that's it. He can feed himself with a fork and drinks water out of his cup. He is still refusing to drink milk out of anything but his bottle, we are working on it. He loves his little green blanket and has to sleep with it every night. He is really good at hugs and kisses and they are my favorite thing in the whole world. He has been really good about the Christmas decorations. When we were setting up the tree he insisted on sitting right underneath it. Once we got the decorations up we only had to tell him 2 or 3 times that the ornaments on the tree were just for looking at not for touching. There is one ornament at the bottom of the tree that has a little cat on it, Brody thinks it's a dog so he stands in front of it and barks at it. He still loves to dance and grandpa Joel taught him how to swing his hips when we were in California for Thanksgiving. I'm working on getting a video. His best friend is Shasta, they follow each other around the house all day and Brody loves to give him hugs and kisses, it's really cute. Here are a few recent pics of my favorite little man.

One of his goofy faces.

He loves to play peek-a-boo, or as we call it "Where's Brody".

Watching his favorite movie, naked!

Those teeth.

Wonderful Wednesday

So last week was wonderful Wednesday. We went to Trudy's in south Austin. The food was really yummy but they don't take reservations so we had to wait forever for a table. Not a fun thing now that Brody just wants to run around like a mad man. It was so nice to see everyone especially all the new mom's and their little ones. Matt and Abbey were there with Kinsey who is 3 months old now. Robin and Justin brought Jude who is 7 weeks old and Matt and Savannah brought Madison who is isn't even a month old yet. It was a late night but we had a really nice time as always. Here are a few pics, I have to give Christopher most of the credit because he took the majority of the pictures.
