Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween. We had a great weekend. It was a lot of fun this year with Brody being a little older. Mark came home early from work on Friday and we went outside to carve our pumpkins. Brody was hilarious. He doesn't really like to be dirty so the whole gooey pumpkin insides were not his favorite part. We could barely get him to touch it. After a while he warmed up a little and wanted to help but he was pretty content watching mommy and daddy do all the dirty work. Then Tim and Shara came over and we made sloppy Joe's (this is a Halloween tradition from Mark's childhood) then we got Brody in his outfit. Mark took him trick or treating but only to a couple of houses. He is still too little to get the entire Halloween concept. Then we just hung out and passed out TONS of candy. We had so many trick or treaters. I love Halloween!

Really not sure about the gooey stuff.

Once he had a big spoon he was glad to help.

He also wanted to help carve but he might need to wait a few more years.

Mommy cleaning out her pumpkin.

More ickyness.

The end results.

Time for our costume.

He just loved dressing up, can't you tell.

Once we got him outside he calmed down.

He was such a cute monkey.

Daddy taking him trick or treating for the very first time.

He even held his own candy holder.

Dad and his little monkey.

Such a cutie pie.

Walking with dad.

And we ended the night with kisses from mom.

Meet Baby Kyler Sage

This is Tiphini's new baby girl Kyler Sage. She is so cute. She was born on October 11th. She was 6lbs 7oz. 19.5 inches long. She had an amazing birth story. Tiphini started having contractions on Thursday night the 9th. Nothing too serious or regular so she wasn't sure if it was time. This continued over the next couple of days. Her plan was to have Kyler delivered by a midwife in a birthing tub at their house. Well on Saturday when her contractions finally got a little stronger they called the midwife and told her she was on the way. She told Tiphini to go take a bath and try and relax. Tiphini went upstairs to get in the bath and Kris (her husband) was setting up the birthing tub. As she was getting in the bath she felt between her legs and realized she could feel the babies head. She called out for Kris but he was outside and didn't hear her. She called his cell phone and on the first try he didn't answer but she finally got a hold of him and told him to come upstairs. As he got upstairs her water finally broke. The midwife was on the freeway and still about 15 minutes away. She got another contraction and realized the baby was coming. Kris climbed in the tub with her with all his close on and delivered his baby girls. When I read about her birth on her blog I was totally crying. I'm sure I didn't do it justice but I thought it was an amazing story.

So tiny.

I loved her little outfit it was so cute.

Tiphini and her beautiful baby girl.

It made we want another baby so bad, I had to keep my distance.

Her big brother loves her!

Playdate

So a warning to all, this post contains A LOT of pictures and A LOT of really cute babies. Actually I should probably say kids, they are all getting so big, they aren't really babies anymore. We went to a Halloween playdate today at my friend Tiphini's house. There were a bunch of kids there and they were all so cute, I got a little carried away taking pictures.

Brody is a monkey. He is not a big fan of his costume, the ears came off in about five seconds. I'm going to try and get some more pictures tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Kayson was a sock monkey, he is so freakin cute!

He is such a sweetheart, I'm so in love with him.

He totally stole a Rice Krispy treat and ran over to his chair to enjoy it.

This is Mitch he was a shark.

I didn't get all the kids names, she was our lady bug.

He was a giraffe and wasn't really into me taking his picture.

She was a puppy and also didn't want to wear her ears.

He was a ninja.

Not too sure, I think his mom said he was a spacebott.

Braden and Brody had the same costume.

Bode was spiderman and he was not happy.

This was Zachery, he loved having me take his picture.

This is Kate, she was a skeleton.

And last but not least, Yoda.

Brody and Kayson are such buds, they totally hung out and played together. Here they are playing ball.

I tried to get all three monkey's together but I could only ever get two of them.

Monkey butts, gotta love it.

Dr. Pepper

So yesterday we were sitting on the couch and I was drinking a Dr. Pepper. Brody is on a kick lately where he wants to eat and drink everything we are having. So he climbed up on top of me and wanted to try my soda. I'm not sure what I was thinking but I thought he probably wouldn't like it so I let him have a little sip. Boy was I wrong. He loved it. He kept grabbing the cup and when I would take a sip he would press his head up close to mine and try to get his lips on the cup so he could get a sip. The whole thing was cracking me up. So here is Brody having his first experience with Dr. Pepper.

Trip to Cali - Part Four Little B

So here are a few more pictures of Brody from our trip. He was so good I'm still amazed. He was really happy for the first half of the trip and then he started getting more teeth so he got a little crankier but still did really well considering how bad he felt. He loved Grandma and Grandpa's house. We played with cars and the piano and went on walks. We had a great visit!

Brody and Grandpa in the Buick.

I love this picture!

Brody having lamb.

I think he liked it.

Just like grandma Judy.

He loved the piano.

Look at that face, I love it!

Trip to Cali - Part Three the Wedding

So the main reason for our trip back to California was to attend our good friends Bernd and Thea's wedding. In fact Mark was the best man. We met Bernd and Thea when we first moved up to Northern California. Thea was the manager who hired me at the Lafayette Park Hotel. We all worked there for a few years before everyone kind of went their separate ways. But we all stayed friends and got very close over the last few years and we wouldn't have missed their wedding for anything. On Thursday the girls went to Pinkies and all had manicures and pedicures. The boys golfed and then the bachelor and bachelorette parties were that night. Friday we were starting to setup and get ready for the big day. We had the rehearsal and then headed to Thea's mom's for the rehearsal dinner. Oh did I mention the wedding was in Mark's parents backyard. Saturday there was a million and one things to do but everyone pitched in and it all came together beautifully. It was a great wedding and we were so happy to be a part of it.

Here is my mom and Judy getting their nails done.

The Bride and a yummy glass of bubbly.

All the girls.

Bernd, Mark and Judy at the rehearsal.

Brody was helping by sweeping the deck.

Sweeping and rockin the sweater vest.

Practice makes perfect.

The only picture I got of Mark and I. And I was in the middle of trying to take off my sweater.

Such a beautiful setting. Joel built the gazebo just for the wedding, good job Joel!
