Another Haircut

I took Brody to get a much needed haircut the other day. This is still one of his least favorite things to have done. I told him in the car we were going to cut his hair and he grabbed his head with both hands and said no! He did better then he has done in the past. He had a fit when I first put him in the chair but then he calmed down and was fine while she used the clippers. Then she got out the trimmer thing and he lost it again. He recovered and let her take her time with the scissors and then we were done. All in all he is getting better but it's still quite the ordeal. Here are his before and after pics.

Here he is holding onto his hair and saying no.

Happy to be done. I took the pics with my phone so they are a little blurry.

He got a lollipop when we were done, it's the first time he has ever been interested.

Brody

So the other night Mark picked up the camera and Brody decided to pose for him. He was cracking me up. Every time the flash went off he struck a different pose. He is such a little ham sometimes.

Shy face.

Silly face.

Sad face.

Happy face.

Deep in thought face.

Goofy face.

While Judy and Joel were here, Judy was really good about taking some video of Brody. She got one of those little Flip Cameras. It was so easy to use and we were able to download to videos right after she took them. I used the new Mac to edit one of them. Here is Brody doing a little dance and playing with the 3D glasses that came with one of his movies.

TX/OU Game

We joined Tim and Shara for one of their favorite traditions on Saturday. Every year they drive up to Dallas to go to the Texas/Oklahoma game and the state fair. Mark's parents flew in on Friday to stay with Brody. Mark picked them up at the airport around 4. They picked up CPK for dinner and then we got on the road around 7pm. We got to Dallas around 10:30pm and pretty much went straight to bed. We woke up bright and early the next day around 6:30am and got to the Cotton Bowl around 7:30am. We walked around the fair and got some yummy food before we headed into the game. We had four tickets but not together so Tim and Mark sat together and Shara and I sat together. We had great seats. The game was close but in the end Texas pulled out the win. We were so excited. After the game we hung around the fair a little longer to let the crowds and the traffic die down before we tried to get on the road again. We ended up getting home around 9:30. Mark's mom had made some really yummy pulled pork and twice baked potatoes. I was exhausted after a very long day and headed to bed. We had so much fun and hope to make it one of our traditions. Thanks Tim and Shara for bringing us along!

It's a BOY!!!

That's right we found out yesterday at our 21 week appointment that we are having a baby boy and more importantly a healthy boy! We couldn't be more excited. I'm so happy Brody is going to have a brother. I have been feeling so much better lately. I have my energy back and haven't been nauseous. I started to feel the baby kick when I was around 17 weeks pregnant. I really love this part of pregnancy, all the yucky feelings are gone and it's before I'm big and uncomfortable. I woke up last Monday convinced the baby was going to be a boy. It was weird I didn't have a dream or anything I just kind of woke up and knew it was going to be a boy. I was so convinced I even started to register for boy stuff. Mark thought I was crazy but changed his mind when the doctor confirmed it was a boy. We can't wait for him to arrive!

Heart beat was around 153.

Waving to mom and dad.

And the parts that make him a boy!

Weekend in Port Aransas

Five couples, four kids, three dogs and a partridge in a pear tree. That pretty much somes up our weekend. We took a trip to Port Aransas. Our friend Robin organized it and we want to try to make it an annual trip. We headed down on Friday afternoon. Mark, Brody and I got there around 4 and picked up the keys to the house. Everyone else arrived around 9. We had dinner and just hung out and got settled. The only downfall of the weekend was the weather wasn't great. It cleared up on Saturday enough for us to take Brody to the beach for the first time. The water was really warm and Brody ran right in. The only problem was it was windy and got cold once we got out of the water. We mostly just relaxed and hung out all weekend. It was really nice and a lot of fun. We can't wait to go again next year and I think we will try to go a little earlier so the weather is nicer. Here are some pics from the weekend, Matt and Abbey took a couple group shots that I'll post later when I get a copies from them.

This was the house we stayed at. It was really nice and in walking distance to the beach.

Brody LOVED the beach.

He ran right into the water without any hesitation.

Pulling daddy along.

Playing with mommy.

Walking back to the house.

We found this fun shark in front of a store in town and Brody just loved it.
