Another Small Step

I'm very excited. I reached another one of my mini goals for losing weight. I have 10 more pounds to be back at my pre-baby weight and then another 10 to be at my bathing suit weight. It feels good to be getting back down to a normal size. I can't wait until my all my clothes start fitting again, it will be like I just went on a giant shopping spree!

We have had a pretty good week. Last night was fun. We went to this wine tasting thing at a place called Spec's with our friend Dr. For all you Californians it kind of like a bigger version of BevMo (everything is bigger in Texas). Anyway they do this cool wine tasting event on the last Wednesday of every month. It's only $10 and you get to taste 20 different wines, there are light snacks and you get to keep your Riedel glass. It's nice because each winery has a representative there so you can ask questions and they give a good discount on the wine. I wish we had our camera with us, Mark got a great picture with his cell phone of Dr. holding Brody in the Baby Bjorn. It was too cute. So other then that the rest of the week should be pretty quiet. We are having a little Super Bowl party on Sunday so that should be fun. I have no idea who I'm rooting for.

Brody and Daddy

We had a pretty quiet weekend. It was kind of nice for a change. Mark actually had to work half day on Saturday. When he got home we made the ever dreaded trip to Costco. It really wasn't that bad, we got in and out pretty quickly. Brody was super cute this weekend. He has definitely mastered sitting up on his own. We had the best Saturday night just sitting up in the play room having fun with Brody. Mark got out some of the baseball stuff he got for Brody before he was born. It was really cute. He was really photogenic this weekend so here are a ton of pictures. I hope you like them.

Brody and his suckie, it's too funny.

Brody and Daddy.

Oh look, it's a baseball.

Are you supposed to eat baseballs?

Or balance them on your head?

Oops I dropped my ball.

Quality boy time.

Love you dad!

Love my feet too!

And I saved the best for last, I don't know if he was happier to see me or the camera.

Brody - 6 Months Old!

I can't believe he is already 6 months old! People always talk about how quick times goes by with kids, it's so true. He is getting so big. We went to the doctors today. He got three more shots and didn't even cry, I couldn't believe it. He just laid there looking at us trying to figure out what was going on. I was so proud of him. The last two times he got shots he started crying really hard and it just broke my heart to see him sad and hurting. So here is how big he is and what he can do at 6 months...

He weights 17 lbs 6 oz. (50th percentile)
His length is 26.75 inches. (60th percentile)
His head circumference is 45 cm. (80th percentile)

He is rolling over in every direction.
He can sit up by himself.
He smiles really big all the time.
Mark is convinced he says Dada but it's more like da da da da ya da ya da.
He is a bouncing machine in his little jumperoo seat.
He is basically crawling, it's more of a scoot but he gets from point A to point B really quickly.
Oh and my favorite he has started to put his pacifier in his mouth, not just the part that is supposed to go in the mouth but the entire thing.

Here are some pictures and a fun video of him bouncing in his jumperoo seat.

He is now not allowed to have his suckie unsupervised because I'm afraid he is going to swallow it!

Patio Furniture

On Friday they finally delivered our patio furniture. It was something we have been wanting since we moved in. Mark's parents decided to get it for us for our Christmas present. We started searching for the right set (which isn't very easy in the middle of winter) and finally found one we really liked. For those of you who don't know patio furniture can be extremely expensive. We found one set where the chairs were $800 each (Yikes)! Well we finally found this set online at Walmart. I couldn't believe what a great deal it was. I was kind of afraid to get it and see why it was such a good deal, but to my relief it's absolutely fabulous. The chairs are really comfortable and I really like the table. There is also a bistro set that comes with 2 more chairs and a small table that we want to put over by the fireplace but it is out of stock right now. We are keeping our fingers crossed that they will get it back in soon. So here is a picture, if anyone is looking for a nice affordable set let me know and I can email you the link. Oh it also has an umbrella that you can buy separately.

Quiet Week

We are just settling back into our routine. The first couple of days home were a little rough. I told Mark I thought we broke the baby. He was so fussy and didn't want to be put down. I think he was just wiped out from our trip. It took him a couple of days but he is back to his perfect little amazing self. Bouncing like crazy and he is really starting to move on the floor, still no actual crawling but lots and lots of scooting. Mark has been busy at work this week and Brody and I have been walking the past few days. We have two weddings at the end of this year and I really want to be back down to my pre-baby size. So I have to start working on it. We have 9 months but still, time goes by quick. Oh and did I mention one of the weddings is in Mexico, which means a bathing suit (YIKES)! Anyway other then that it has been a pretty quiet week. We still need to take down our Christmas tree, all of the ornaments are off we just need to take it apart and put it in the box, I'm hoping it will be done by Saturday at the latest. Mark's parents got us some patio furniture for Christmas and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow, I'm really excited to see what it looks like. I'll take pictures once we have it all put together.

Oh and did I mention one of Brody's new favorite things to do is suck on his bottom lip. It's too funny.

Back Home

Our trip was fast and furious and now we are back home. It was a fabulous trip. We landed in San Jose around 5:00 pm on Thursday. We made it home in time to meet up with Ang, DJ, Bernd and Thea for dinner at Va de Vi, it was amazing as usual. I didn't want the night to end. When we got back to the house Mark's brother Ryan and his girlfriend Kenda were already there. We stayed up for a little bit talking and catching up and then decided to call it a night. On Friday we all got up and had breakfast. Mark, Brody and I headed over the the LPH (Lafayette Park Hotel, which is where I used to work) to see all of my friends. It was so good to see everyone, I really miss all of them. They were like family to me and I miss seeing them on a day to day basis. Especially Kim who was like a big sister to me and Jan my 3rd mom. After that we headed into Berkeley to meet back up with Mark's family at their office and get our teeth cleaned. Then we headed home for a nap and then dinner at Blue Ginko for some amazing Sushi, it's still the best I have ever had! Then Saturday was all about family. We had a lunch/open house thing from 12-3. Lots of family came to see Brody and Ryan. It was so good to see everyone but it was also very overwhelming, Brody and I are used to it being just the two of us most of the time so to be around 20 or more people was kind of a lot to handle. Brody did really good, he only got a little fussy a couple of times but he held it together really well. Then Saturday night we did a big family dinner with just the immediate family. It was really nice, Judy and Joel fixed lobster and filets. We had some really nice wines and just had a blast hanging out together and goofing around. We couldn't have had anymore fun! On Sunday our flight was at noon so we had to leave around 9:30 for the airport. Like I said it was a quick trip but we definitely packed it full. Here are some of the pictures from the trip.

The three brothers back together again.

The Boriskin clan.

Bernd, Thea and Brody.

Alan, Brody and Kenda's son Bina. I feel bad I have no pictures of Kenda.

Brody with Mark's aunt Cynthia.

Jennifer, Bre and Brody

Judy gave Brody a bath in the sink, he learned how to splash. Poor Judy was soaking wet.

He just loves his baths!

Well that was our trip. We really did have a wonderful time. It was nice to visit everyone in California but it's good to be home. I think we are planning on coming again at the end of March/beginning of April for the A's opening night so hopefully we'll have a little more time then.

Off to California

Yes we are finally going back to Cali for a visit. We are very excited. I'm a little nervous about how Brody will do on the plane but he did so good his first time I'm sure it will be fine. It's going to be a quick trip but we have tons of stuff planned. We are having dinner at Va de Vi (our favorite restaurant) with Bernd, Thea, Ang and DJ on Thursday when we get in. Friday is going to be very busy, I want to go by the LPH and see all of my former co-workers, then we are going to get our teeth cleaned, fallowed by a visit with Mark's grandmother and then SUSHI (I'm very excited about sushi) with the family. Then there is a big lunch planned on Saturday followed by another family dinner. One of the biggest reasons for our visit is to reconnect with Mark's older brother Ryan, he hasn't met Brody yet and we are really looking forward to the reunion. So we have a very busy few days ahead of us. I also wanted to put this picture of Brody up before we left. His new thing is licking anything and everything he can. My mom got him this really cute piglet for Christmas and as soon as I took it out of the box he couldn't wait to get his hands (or his tongue) on it. I will try to blog from Cali but if I can't we will be back on Sunday. Have a great weekend!

Almost Crawling!

I can't believe he is almost crawling. He has been rolling all over the place and kind of doing push ups and scooting a little. But in the last few days he has really been getting up on his knees and rocking back and forth. It's only a matter of time before he takes off and I'll be fighting to keep up.
